Scott Goss
Visual Artist: Sculpture; Artist: installation, video, glass, public art
Scott Goss creates surreal, experiential installations that explore human nature and the connections we have to those around us. A typical protagonist in his work, Goss often researches and dissects his own psychology, so to better understand himself and others around him. He does this by designing environments that often require his viewers to climb, lay, or crawl within his installations to discover hidden video projections and monitors.
Goss received his MFA from Kent State University and his BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art. He is a previous recipient of both a Harpo Foundation Grant and the Individual Excellence Award presented by the Ohio Arts Council. His work has been exhibited locally, regionally, and nationally and is included in the collections of the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland State University, Summa Hospital, and the city of Shaker Heights. Currently Goss is a Lecturer in the Foundations program at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
