HIGO GABARRON

Higo (Hilda Gabarron Ordorica)

A professional mixed-media artist, graphic designer, gallery owner/operator, college art professor, and award-winning editorial designer, Higo received her BS in Graphic Arts and Design at the Universidad de las Americas in Puebla, Mexico.  Her graduate studies were in art restoration at Puebla’s Universidad Iberoamericana.

Higo has been in more than 20 collective and individual exhibitions in Mexico and the USA including shows at MOCA, E11even2 and Gallery Plus at 78^th St. Studios in Cleveland, Beachwood Community Center, Lakeland Community College, and Detroit Institute of Art; she has lived in Shaker Heights, Ohio since 2012.

Winner of the Utility Box contest on Shaker Heights in 2019 with her illustration “Starry Meow in Cle”.
