2023-2024 Saturday Community Arts Program - Hough Campus

The program will include classes in Dance, Drama, Visual Arts, and Music, as well as STEM and digital arts. Classes are facilitated by excellent teaching artists and creative community partners. SCA will also feature Rainey’s RYSE (Rainey Youth for Symphonic-Social Elevation) Ensemble for 3rd-12th grade student-musicians and vocalists!

RAINEY STARS welcomes Preschoolers and Kindergarteners to explore and shine here at Rainey, with exciting biweekly classes in visual arts and dance. Classes are age-appropriate for children aged 4-6, and parents/guardians are also encouraged to participate in the creative fun! (10:00 – 11:35 am)

RAINEY EXPLORERS immerses 1st-2nd grade students in an exciting and exploratory learning experience in the arts, with weekly classes in dance, drama, music, and visual arts.  Each Saturday, these budding young artists engage in rotating performing and visual arts classes, led by Rainey’s professional teaching faculty.  The program provides both age and developmentally appropriate classes, as well as exciting opportunities for creative fun, friendship-building, introduction to the Rainey family, and discovery of the incredible joys and possibilities the arts bring to our lives! (10:00 – 11:35 am)

RAINEY CLUBS engages 3rd-8th grade students in interactive, creative, and collaborative club experiences in Dance, Drama, and Visual Arts.  Weekly 90-minute club sessions give students the opportunity to dive deeply into learning and developing their own artistic skills, while also having fun, building friendships and camaraderie with club-mates, and working together with other clubs on exciting and collaborative performances and projects! (11:35 am – 1:05 pm)

RAINEY CONNECTIONS offers 3rd-8th grade students new, unique, and exciting programs, offered by Rainey’s community partners and artists, providing hands-on learning experiences in areas such as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), Digital Music Production, Creative Writing, Spoken Word, and more! (1:10pm – 2:35pm)

RYSE ENSEMBLE (Rainey Youth for Symphonic-Social Elevation) unites 3rd – 12th grade student-musicians from throughout Greater Cleveland in a dynamic, popular music ensemble and immersive civic engagement experience! Focusing on the roots and modern expressions of Jazz, Blues, Funk, Hip Hop, R&B, and other popular music styles, RYSE provides a unique artistic experience, encouraging young musicians to engage the creativity of improvisation and playing by ear, while also providing formal training, private lessons, and professionally coached rehearsals. RYSE’s intensive and relevant music education is combined with exciting community performances as well as youth-centered civic engagement activities. This combination creates a truly impactful opportunity for young artists to connect with each other and their community, grow as musicians and leaders, and affect positive change through the power of unity and music! (10:00am – 1:00pm)

Only $25 due to start.
Tuition is billed in 1, 2, or 6 installments beginning November 5th
