Rainey Institute is where the arts change lives by enriching and inspiring a broad community of learners through excellent, accessible arts programming. Rainey has served children and families in Cleveland for more than 100 years. Founded in 1904 as a settlement house providing social services to Eastern European immigrants, Rainey adjusted its focus in 1966 to reflect the changing needs of the Hough and surrounding neighborhoods it serves. Today, Rainey is dedicated to developing positive growth for Greater Cleveland’s youth through education and engagement in visual and performing arts. Programs occur after-school, on Saturdays, and over the summer to nurture youths’ interests in the arts and develop their social and emotional well-being. In 2023, Rainey opened a second location at the Pivot Center for Art, Dance and Expression in Cleveland’s Clark-Fulton neighborhood to expand our impact to more Cleveland youth and families. We welcome all children ages 1-18, no auditions are required and no student is ever turned away due to an inability to pay.
