POSITION SUMMARY:
Rainey Institute is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic fundraising professional whose project management, communication, and relationship building skills will support the Development team at Rainey in raising $1.5-$2M annually. The successful Development Manager will understand the fundraising landscape of Cleveland, Ohio, utilize CRM software and moves management processes to execute results, and drive multiple critical revenue streams at Rainey Institute. The Director of Development will consider the unique skills and experiences of the successful candidate to assign project leadership and support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Development Manager will lead or support the following revenue streams that enable
the achievement of annual revenue goals:
○ Annual Fund: Planning and implementing goals and strategies for annual/quarterly/bi-annual campaigns, alumni giving, individual gifts below $1,000, and Rainey’s monthly giving program.
○ Grants: Support the execution of the organization’s grants plan through stewarding foundation relationships, grant proposal development and reporting on grant awards, with attention to deadlines, delegating to/collaborating with team members, and multi-tasking. Actively prospect and research potential major family foundation and private foundation donors and collaborating on cultivation plans in partnership with the Director of Development.
○ Events: Support the execution of the organization’s events plan including annual gala, donor site visits, and engagement opportunities such as awareness events, community events, and Rainey performances and art exhibits.
○ Marketing and Communications: Provide a consistent, on-brand communications strategy and calendar for the department, and partner with the Marketing Associate to develop and design content that promotes the Development Office’s goals, campaigns, etc.
○ Public Funding: Understand local, state, or national buckets of public funding, develop relationships with appropriate officials and representatives who advocate for public arts, and execute the process for soliciting funds.

In order to achieve annual revenue goals, the Development Manager will follow procedures and best practices of the team, including but not limited to:
○ Maintain a "grants calendar" in Fluxx noting all foundation grant proposals and reporting deadlines.
○ Maintain compliance with reporting requirements and ensure timely submission of high quality grant proposals.
○ Review all current foundation supporters to identify potential for increased grant funding.
○ Communicate with supporters regularly to update them on our work (as appropriate) through an annual communications and engagement strategy in order to retain or re-engage donors.
○ Ensure 100% of deliverables are met as outlined in grants/grant agreements and that donor intent is honored.
○ In partnership with the Director of Development, identify and qualify new potential donors quarterly; obtain introductions/connections/meetings to new foundations annually.
○ Maintain and increase membership in BeatKeepers Monthly Giving Program, and refine benefits and engagement according to the development department communications plan.
○ Develop and implement a successful, growing, and multi-strategy annual appeal/end-of-year giving campaign and other appeals as necessary throughout the year.
○ Update organizational marketing materials and a compelling "case for support” that outlines impact of individual gifts under $1,000.
○ Maintain accurate donor data in DonorPerfect and effectively utilize reports, alerts, reminders, and tasks to steward and engage donors.
○ Strategize with the Development Director to transition Annual Fund donors to Major Gifts program as appropriate.
○ Plan and execute events as appropriate to engage annual fund level donors and to
increase individual contributions.
○ Present the organization, clients and staff in a positive manner to educate and familiarize donors and the community with the organization, including attending events as requested.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
● 2 years proven fundraising/development experience, or directly transferable experience in
sales, event production, written communication or copywriting, etc.
● High degree of computer literacy required.
● Excellent oral and written skills including proofreading required.
● Strong project management skills required.
● Experience using a donor management database or similar CRM software preferred.
● Bachelor’s degree preferred.
● Solid team player with demonstrated ability to work with flexibility and efficiency in a
fast paced environment.
● A personal connection or commitment to Rainey’s mission and work and desire to work
with people of all backgrounds.
● Highly organized and results driven.
● Ability to generate a positive image of the organization with all contacts and
communications that represent Rainey Institute.

Salary & Benefits: $50,000/year, $15,000 Life Insurance, Medical Insurance 80/20, Vision & Dental Offered, Six (6) weeks vacation first year, Paid Professional Development, Hybrid Work Schedule.
