World premiere - Contemporary Youth Orchestra & Michael Stanley release "Another New Year's Eve"

The Contemporary Youth Orchestra is excited to announce that Cleveland rock legend Michael Stanley has collaborated on a new video production of one of his most heart-felt songs “Another New Year’s Eve.”  “CYO is an amazing organization, providing a unique opportunity for students in NEO to perform at a very high-level, often with other professional musicians,” said Mr. Stanley. “Since the Covid situation made it impossible for us to even consider a collaborative performance together as part of their annual fundraising concert, I was delighted to work with the students on this socially-distanced recording of one of my favorite songs written with my longtime friend and bandmate Bob Pelander.”

The video, which combines 70 orchestra members performing individually from home, premieres Friday, December 11th at 8:00 pm on the CYO YouTube page. A donation link makes it easy for fans to support the inspiring work that CYO does. “No student who passes the audition is turned away because of inability to pay, so scholarships are an important part of the CYO mission,” said Kimberly Deichler, CYO Executive Director.

This project brings together two Cleveland icons very dear to me, my longtime friend Michael Stanley, and the Contemporary Youth Orchestra.” The result is a moving, uplifting take on the approaching new year, destined to be a new holiday classic.
