Toby’s Prize Artist Talk: Sondra Perry

Sondra Perry is the inaugural winner of Toby’s Prize, moCa’s biennial award that recognizes excellence in an emerging contemporary artist and provides her/him/them with an exhibition, catalog, and $50,000. Perry is increasingly recognized for her interdisciplinary work that features video, computer-based media, sculpture, and at times, performance.

Her moCa exhibition, A Terrible Thing, explores the often-invisible yet ever-present architecture, labor, and infrastructure within museums and the interplay between how people make spaces, and how spaces and materials shape people.
