Printed Textiles (Canceled)

Printmaking is an easy and accessible way to create unique textiles and customize any piece of fabric. You will begin by learning the basics in relief printing by carving one simple pattern or one repeating pattern. After finishing your carving, you will learn how to best prepare and print on your choice textile to create a wearable print. Techniques and tips pertaining to types of inks, textiles, and heat-setting will also be covered to ensure that you can easily apply this workshop to future projects.

More about the instructor:
Allie graduated from Xavier University with a BFA in Printmaking and Art History. She began as an intern at the Morgan before transitioning to Staff. Before her time at the Morgan, she was an Intern at Zygote Press. She has also worked as a teaching assistant at Loyola University’s campus in Rome, guiding students in their Italian and Art History classes. In her spare time she is a printmaker, sketchbook doodler, and loves to weave.
