LTV Concert 3: Kari Rutushin & The SpYder Stompers
Lift Their Voices” is a community program to expand awareness of the artistic and societal innovations made by historical figures from marginalized communities whose contributions are too often underappreciated.
Join Roots of American music and singer-songwriter Kari Rutushin. Joining her will be Roots of American Music string band artists Ray DeForest, Jack DiAlesandro, and Kevin Richards. Our topic will be the story of the proud immigrant populations that risked their lives and worked underground to build the subway systems in 1900. Kari and her Stompers will feature music in the prewar style: acoustic blues, jazz, rags, and stomps.
