Duffy Liturgical Dance Ensemble Studio Recital

Every year, DuffyLit presents a recital including youth and adult students.  Throughout the year, the students learn choreography to be performed at the November Concert and subsequent concerts and performances leading to the annual Recital.  During classes throughout the year, the students learn the history behind the Negro Spiritual and the history behind each dance movement. Each step and dance movement has a meaning and tells a story of what the African American ancestors experienced.  Our dance movements also honor African Americans who struggled and thrived through their Faith, Hope, Optimism, and Perseverance.  As a result of this learning experience, an annual DuffyLit presents a Recital to showcase the experience.
