Two exhibitions, Back in my day … and Potential Link will go on view during a public opening event from 5 to 8pm Friday, November 5 in Reinberger Gallery and the Ann and Norman Roulet Student + Alumni Gallery.
Back in my day … will honor the work of CIA’s Class of 2020, which was unable to experience a culminating physical exhibition due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organized and named in consort with an advisory committee of 2020 alums, this show aims to reconnect those who were unable to celebrate the conclusion of their undergraduate experience in person. This show is not a replacement BFA exhibition. Instead, it looks forward, meeting artists and designers where they are by featuring work that best represents their respective practices in the present moment. The show will be on view through December 17 in Reinberger Gallery.
Potential Link presents work from the first eight weeks of the CIA Foundation program. First-year student work is displayed to illuminate the range of assignments, the preliminary and process contributing to more finished works, and most significantly, the potential link between courses, concepts and the complexity of each work in relation to the whole. The exhibition will be curated by Foundation faculty member Christian Wulffen. The show will be on view through December 10 in the Ann and Norman Roulet Student + Alumni Gallery.
