Andrew J. Rickoff Garden Celebration & Community Resource Fair 2023

Join Kulture Kids and the students/families/community of Andrew J. Rickoff School as we kickoff the growing season in our expanded school garden as part of the school’s annual Family & Community Resource Fair on Saturday, May 20th from 11AM-2PM.

There will be family-friendly activities and community members will have direct access to information and resources provided by a variety of community organizations.

We also expect some of AJ Rickoff students from pre-K to 3rd grade to be able to share what they’ve learned this year from Kulture Kids’ artists, with a mini drum and dance performance.

Kulture Kids, has partnered with AJ Rickoff school for the past 12 years, presenting original, arts-integrated, STEAM-centered classroom residencies. The current garden project, A Pleasant Garden at Andrew J. Rickoff, began in 2016 in response to requests from teachers and administrators for a hands-on way to connect students with science and the arts outdoors. Since then, “A Pleasant Garden” has not only provided hundreds of lbs. of free produce to the community each year, but become a gathering place for people of all ages to learn, collaborate, connect, grow and celebrate the arts, culture, and science, in this vibrant space, as a community.
