A Closer Look: Connections across the Medieval World

This four-week course introduces the art of the medieval world using objects from the CMA’s encyclopedic collection to demonstrate the connections between cultures in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

Instructor: Amanda Mikolic

Artworks discussed cover a broad range of time, spanning from the 300s CE to the 1600s. Individual sessions focus on cross-cultural themes, such as holy and sacred families, architecture and original contexts, vessels of everyday life, and symbols of power.

In-person course, four sessions: Wednesdays, April 17, April 24, May 1, and May 15 (no class on May 8), 6:00–7:00 p.m.
