Beck Center for the Arts is one of northeast Ohio’s largest performing arts and education organizations providing professional theater performances and high-quality arts education for tens of thousands of patrons throughout the region annually. We seek a talented individual to join us in the role of Controller.

As Beck Center is a complex organization made up of six programs plus a professional theater, this position requires understanding of how myriad detail flows into one financial statement. The Controller provides leadership and management oversight to plan, supervise, and coordinate accounting, payroll and employee benefits at Beck Center, and has the authority to improve efficiencies and implement change in processes as necessary. This individual reports directly to the President/CEO and supervises two part-time Accounting Assistants.

In this role, the Controller will be responsible to ensure high quality standards of accounting office functions, particularly in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the GL and Cash Accounts, preparing and/or overseeing timely and accurate reconciliation on all bank accounts to support accurate cash flow statements. This individual will manage the annual audit and preparation of 990s to timely completion, manage the benefits procurement process and benefits administration, as well as other duties.

We seek an individual with a minimum of three years of accounting experience, proven financial management, financial reporting and financial analytics, preferably in a non-profit, education, or service industry. A four year college degree or CPA is preferred. Familiarity with MAS90 accounting software and proficiency with MS Excel is preferred.
