Join us at the 9th Annual African Dance & Drum Festival. This year’s event celebrates the many New Beginnings in our lives and within our community while interlacing a theatrical infusion of dance, poetry, drumming, song and folklore.
Saturday and Sunday features a community-wide African Dance & Drum Conference with Guest Teaching Artists from Senegal, Mali, Ghana, Conga, Cuba and the United States.
Saturday night features Soga Dorr “New Beginnings” – a Juneteenth Concert performance choreographed and produced by noted artist, choreographer and dancer, Talise Campbell. Cleveland’s own Djapo Cultural Arts Institute will join international guest artists and area performers for a moving tribute in celebration of New Beginnings.
