CityMusic Cleveland presents a child-friendly concert, Get Your Groove On, on Saturday, June 23, to kick off the 2018 Music Series at The Children’s Museum of Cleveland (CMC). Admission to the concert is FREE with paid admission to the Museum. CMC members admitted at no charge.

THREE PERFORMANCE TIMES: 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Each concert is approximately 30 minutes in length.

CityMusic Cleveland has carved a distinctive place in the cultural life of Northeast Ohio since its founding in 2004. Volunteers created the professional chamber orchestra to present free concerts in neighborhoods where audience members may have no other access to classical music.

The organization has established a fresh orchestral paradigm by forging relationships, fostering community involvement in the arts, and offering programs full of artistic adventure. Along with audience development, CityMusic is committed to teaching young people about the joys of music.

Get Your Groove On will be the inaugural concert in The Clurie Bennis Children’s Outreach Program, featuring CityMusic’s own In2ative ensemble and the dancer/choreographer Kevin Marr. 

An infusion of poetry, dance, and music, this show will be a collaboration across the musical genres of classical music, beatboxing and rap, enhanced by hip-hop dancing.

The audience will learn about rhythms that tie together music, poetry, and dance and have interactive portions that will break down these elements
