Join Kulture Kids and the students/families/community of Andrew J. Rickoff School as we kickoff the growing season in our expanded school garden as part of the school’s annual Family & Community Resource Fair on Saturday, May 12th from 10AM-1PM.

Kulture Kids, has partnered with AJ Rickoff school for the past eight years, presenting original, arts-integrated, STEAM-centered classroom residencies. The current garden project, A Pleasant Garden at Andrew J. Rickoff, was begun last year in response to requests from teachers and administrators for a hands-on way to connect students with science and the arts outdoors. The garden’s first year was an incredible success, producing more than 100lbs of fresh produce which was given away to the surrounding community. This year, we’ve expanded the garden and anticipate the addition of a USDA high-tunnel for extending the growing season and increasing food production.

More than 250 people from the school and surrounding community will attend this year’s celebration event and have direct access to information and resources provided by a variety of community organizations, including: Habitat for Humanity, The Gathering Place, Recovery Resources, Cleveland Public Library, and more.

Join us in celebrating this successful model for arts-integrated STEAM programming, with an emphasis on nutrition and wellness, and connect with scholars, families, and community members who value and have contributed to this community resource.
