Participants create their own mandala design on a ceramic plate. The plates are fired and the next week, participants share stories over a potluck meal that includes their loved ones’ favorite foods.
Healing Arts Workshops provide grieving people with a creative outlet for their grief and are open to the community. No art experience is necessary. This event is especially for members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender Community who have experienced the death of a loved one.
Plan to attend both sessions. On June 5, participants will create their own mandala design and paint both sides of a bisque (unglazed china) dinner plate with ceramic glazes. The plates will be kiln-fired during the week, so they can be used at the potluck dinner on June 12. Bring your loved one’s or your own favorite food to share, as well as your stories and your memories!
