Children ages 5- 13 are welcome to apply for the Thea Bowman Center children summer program. Children will engage in a variety of learning activities that promotes social learning and academic skill building. Activities include weekly field trips .
The TBC summer program will start June 10th and end August 1st with a intergenerational picnic in the park. The program runs 4 days/week from 9 -3:30. Children K to 8th grade will start the day with breakfast and lunch at mid day provided by our partner the Food Bank. After the unity circle opening every morning ,youth will engage in assigned learning activities -music, arts and crafts, reading , outdoor sports/games, gardening , gender specific activities for person growth and coding. The purpose of the summer children program is to help kids have fun, make new friends , explore their surroundings with field trips and learn or improve their reading skills. The summer youth program ends the first week in August with a intergenerational picnic. Our youth and senior programs come together to enjoy the out doors and have lunch in the park. Youth are expected to share at least one activity they learned of enjoyed the most over the eight weeks.
