CFC Concert #2 will be in Harkness Chapel! It is a beautiful and impressive space (acoustically a favorite for musicians and audiences)!
This program has a magical quality, with mood shifts and unexpected contrasts filling the soulful gothic elegance of Harkness Chapel. First, a pair of Baroque works for violin and harp. Next, French horn and piano play a work Clara Schumann called “brilliant, fresh and passionate.” The contrasts continue with a set of droll, sardonic miniatures by one of America’s most beloved living composers. Finally, the clarinet quintet by Brahms pairs a symphonic scale and emotional range with the intimate lyricism of chamber music.
