No Exit invites lovers of provocative art to join them in a concert program that will feature piano music orginally presented at the Festival Dada (1920) and the Soiree du Coeuer a Barbe (a1923), plus new works inspired by the Dadaists.
No Exit and their partner Heights Arts team up for a look “backwards into the future,” as they present Piano Dada. The musical program will include pieces written by the artists associated with the Dadaist movement, such as Erratum Musical by Marcel Duchamp, and La Nourrice Americaine by Francis Picabia, plus a new work by No Exit percussionist Luke Rinderknecht, and the ensemble’s performance of Hugo Ball’s iconoclastic poem Karawane. Concert-goers will also be treated a new series of sound poems and a filmic presentation of Tristan Tzara singing The Song of the Dadaist.
In conjunction with the Piano Dada concert series, No Exit will create a dadist/surrealist environment at Heights Arts, titled Irrational Objects: Backwards into the Future. This installation will include elements of set design plus art and objects created specifically for the exhibit – “offering a very cool, wild, strange and extraordinary experience” for attendees.
