“Dynamic Deviations” – Celebrating artistic innovation, Pianist Megan Denman, flutist Ian Wenz, and trumpeter Theresa May will captivate audiences at the Convivium 33 Gallery on February 15th, 2024, at 7:00 PM. The evening commences with “In Memoriam: To the Victims of Chernobyl” by Larysa Kuzmenko, a poignant tribute that sets the emotional tone for the performance. Florence Price’s “Piano Sonata in E minor” follows, guiding the audience through a spectrum of moods and melodies. A highlight of the evening is “Court Dances for Flute and Piano” by Amanda Harberg, expertly interpreted by flutist Ian Wenz. As the journey continues, Theresa May takes center stage with “Largo et Andante et Allegro et Presto et cetera” from “Winds of Change” by Zoe Cutler. Closing the evening is “Go to the Garden” by Eris Dejarnett, a modern exploration featuring Theresa May on trumpet accompanied by fixed media. This piece delves into contemporary soundscapes, pushing the boundaries of traditional composition. “Dynamic Deviations” is presented by the Local 4 Music Fund, an organization committed to promoting local talent and fostering a vibrant musical community.
