Ursuline College’s Florence O’Donnell Wasmer Gallery will present, “The New Masters 3: Women Artists of Northeast Ohio,” showcasing the diversity of art being created by women in our region.
While the “Old Masters” of the 13th-19th centuries were all European men, “The New Masters” will encompass the works of a diverse group of women artists from northeast Ohio. Media represented may include paintings, works on paper, photography, mixed media, sculpture, glass, and fiber. All works will be original, the artist’s own concept and creation, and never before exhibited in Wasmer.
The opening reception and awards ceremony will be held Friday, November 10th, 5:00-7:00 PM at the Gallery. The juror will be Hilary D. Gent, artist, art advocate, and director of HEDGE Gallery at 78th Street Studios. Prizes will be awarded on the basis of demonstration of artistic mastery; creative excellence and innovation; and outstanding execution of chosen medium. Guests at the reception will be able to view the works, read the artists’ statements, engage in dialogue with each other and the artists, and enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres.
Free admission; no tickets needed.
