Amphion’s String Quartet will play concerti grossi by Handel, Corelli, Vivaldi and Bach, with violinists Michael Houff and Amber Dimoff, violist Liesl Langmack and cellist Derek Snyder.
The quartet is named for Zeus’ son Amphion, whose playing on the lyre was so powerful that huge blocks of stone formed themselves into walls at its sound.
The concert is free and open to the public, and cosponsored by Cuyahoga Arts and Culture, Music Performance Trust Fund and Local 4 Music Fund.
