The Cleveland School of the Arts produces its annual Festival of New Works, a multi-arts showcase of original student works produced in exciting spaces through the school.
The Festival of New Works is a 17-year tradition and the centerpiece of CSA’s engagement with Cuyahoga County’s arts community. Students present original artworks, developed over nine months under the guidance of local working artists and professional arts partners. Audiences experience poems, songs, plays, films, dances, visual arts, multi-arts works, and interactive workshops in performance spaces throughout the school.
The Festival demonstrates the internal creative process, brought to fruition with the external performance experience. Events share amazing original works of CSA’s “scholar artists,” produced in collaboration with fellow students and with the support of dedicated teachers and local professionals working as Artists-in-Residence at the school. The vibrant multi-arts showcase offers live performances and artistic exhibitions in CSA’s new home, and the community is invited to explore a University Circle arts and education institution that is contributing to the next generation.
