Inspired by Sam Falls’s exhibition, We Are Dust and Shadow, and facilitated by Deb Berkebile of Praxis Fiber Workshop, learn how to eco print scarves with leaves and natural dyes.
Eco Printing is a form of natural dyeing where plant materials are bundled and use a direct contact printing method, drawing out tannins and pigments from plants to make interesting and surprising marks on protein (silk, wool) fibers which are transferred to fabric via steaming or boiling. Two for one bundling is a favorite technique.
Participants will each receive their own scarf to print.
Attendance is limited and and advanced registration is required.
