The Older Adult Community Mural Project is a project in which older adults in the community get to be creative and play a pivotal part in creating something they can talk about to their friends, family members, or even strangers.
A local artist is going to design murals throughout the halls of Barton Center that reflect both its past, future, and the city of Lakewood. They will then draw them on the wall. Once that is complete, anyone walking by will be asked if they would like to paint. If they say “yes”, they will be allowed to paint as little or as much as they want. The goal will be to get as many people passing by as possible, to paint at least one stroke of the mural in order to say, “I helped with that mural.” This event is open to anyone 55 and older in Cuyahoga County!
This project will be taking place inside the Barton Senior Center and anyone interested in participating should call Ethan Krasnow, Executive Director, at ethan@bartonseniorcenter.org or call (216) 221-3400 ext. 136.
