Community Arts Program

Community Arts Program

Presented by Rainey Institute at Rainey Institute Hough Campus

The program will feature classes, arts clubs, and collaborative community projects in dance, drama, visual arts, and music, along with creative experiences in STEM and digital arts, facilitated by excellent teaching artists and creative partners from our community.

RAINEY EXPLORERS immerses K-2nd grade students in an exploratory learning experience in the arts, with weekly classes in dance, drama, music, and visual arts.  Each Saturday, these budding young artists engage in rotating performing and visual arts classes, led by Rainey’s professional teaching faculty.  The RAINEY KIDS program is both an age and developmentally appropriate learning experience, as well as an opportunity for creative fun, friendship-building, introduction to the Rainey family, and discovery of the incredible joys and possibilities the arts bring to our lives!  (20-week Session: November 12, 2022 – May 6, 2023)

RAINEY CLUBS engages 3rd-8th grade students in interactive, creative, and collaborative club experiences in Dance, Drama, and Visual Arts.  Weekly 90-minute club sessions give students the opportunity to dive deeply into learning and developing their own artistic skills, while also having fun, building friendships and camaraderie with club-mates, and working together with other clubs on exciting and collaborative performances and projects!

RAINEY CONNECTIONS introduces 3rd-8th grade students to unique programs offered by some of Rainey’s dynamic community partners and other local artists!  These 5-week programs provide hands-on learning experiences in areas such as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), Digital Music Production, Creative Writing, Spoken Word, and more. (5-week Session(s) 1: November 12, 2022 – December 17, 2023  |  5-week Session(s) 2: January 14 – February 11, 2023)

Beginning Saturday, February 18th, RAINEY CLUBS students will have the chance to extend their day and participate in a full stage play through our RAINEY PRESENTS!  project.  After attending their individual Club sessions, students and teaching artists will come together to collaborate on the stage production, which will incorporate skills from every discipline, including casting and performing character roles, learning dance and musical numbers, designing sets and props, creating promotional materials, and more.  This culminating production will unite and celebrate our community experience in a fun and exciting way. (10-week Session: February 18 – May 6, 2023)
