Natural Areas Field Trip: A Foray at Floyd

Natural Areas Field Trip: A Foray at Floyd

Presented by Cleveland Museum of Natural History at Floyd Preserve, Ashtabula County

INSTRUCTORS: DR. TIM MATSON, ROBERTA MUEHLHEIM & GARRETT ORMISTON
Curators of Vertebrate Zoology Roberta Muehlheim (current) and Dr. Tim Matson (Emeritus) will lead us on an exploration of the Museum’s Floyd Preserve in Ashtabula County. We’ll sein its high-quality coldwater stream for the diversity of dace, chub, stoneroller, and other fish species that call it home. We’ll look for amphibians in the preserve’s ponds, seepage wetlands, and tributary streams, and watch for birds in the upland forest and among the hemlocks that line the cool stream.
