Learn and perform a music genre so important to all music and the American experience w/ exposure to multiculturalism, world views and perspectives while studying in a high-caliber professional environment with peers of intermediate-advanced levels.
The Roberto Ocasio Foundation is pleased to announce the return of our Latin Jazz Camp, on hold the past two years due to Covid. This summer we are offering a high-school “day” camp while we reboot for our 2023 signature resident camp, the only high-school music camp in the country solely dedicated to the study and performance of the Latin-jazz genre.
In Collaboration with Case Western Reserve University Department of Music. Artistic Director/Artist-In-Residence, Bobby Sanabria–8x Grammy-nominated leader in the Afro-Cuban and jazz fields and one of the world’s foremost performers, educators and articulate scholars of the genre. Faculty includes renowned music educators, career musicians, CWRU professionals and music majors, and Camp alumni from prestigious music programs around the U.S.
Grades 8 (entering 9th in fall of 2023) through 12, including 2022 graduates – All Instruments
Jazz & Latin music experience helpful but not required.
Instruction, performing, theory, improv, rhythm analysis, history, culture, rehearsals.
$400 tuition (incl $50 application fee, audition costs waived).
Minimum 20 enrollment to hold Camp (maximum 30)
Current CWRU Covid protocols will be followed.
