INSTRUCTORS: DR. TIM MATSON, ROBERTA MUEHLHEIM & GARRETT ORMISTON
The Museum’s Hadlock Preserve on the Ashtabula River is rich in critical wetland habitat. Channel ponds on the floodplain, as well as enhanced and restored wetlands in upland areas, all provide suitable breeding habitat for amphibians. Join us as we look for signs of life in these vernal pools at night. If conditions are right, we should see tadpoles and larval salamanders, and we will listen for tree frogs and other late species that call out in the nocturnal woods.
