In this online presentation, Debra Soussa-Oliveira tells the story of how her art and her activism merge through her life story.
Debra Soussa-Oliveria is a lifelong activist whose first call to activism came when she was six years old. She tells her life story through her photographs and artwork. She describes herself as a dandelion in concrete and relates the life events that shaped her and molded her into an activist. She describes how she was arrested for protesting on the steps of the state capitol building in New Jersey and how being a mother has only strengthened her resolve to create change for herself and for her children.
