A Virtual Play followed by a talkback with 2nd Act actors who are in recovery or have lived experience with substance use disorder.
On May 10, 2022, at 11:30 am, MyCom, the Cuyahoga County Public Library and 2nd Act are coming together to host a FREE virtual performance of ‘Four Legs to Stand On’.
The play, ‘Four Legs to Stand On’ is based on true life and will be performed by 2nd Act actors with lived experience.
‘Four Legs to Stand On’ Synopsis: “Two illnesses are eating at Sam’s family’s foundation. Only cancer is allowed a voice at their table. This story exposes the secrecy that shrouds the topic of opioid addiction. Through humor and realism contrasted against hypocrisy, this story invites the audience to take a seat at the table and acknowledge our American struggle with addiction. It is as close as family.”
A talk-back session with 2nd Act actors with lived experience will follow.
2nd Act’s mission is to change the way people and communities respond to the impact of substance use through theater and drama therapy. This play is suitable for ages 12 and older and will help students, educators, and families start the conversation about substance use and addiction.
