Paraguayan guitar virtuoso Berta Rojas makes her live performance Cleveland debut on Saturday, April 2nd at 7:30pm.
This concert marks the in-person Cleveland debut of Paraguayan guitarist BERTA ROJAS. Berta ranks among today’s foremost classical guitarists. She has been praised as a “guitarist extraordinaire” by the Washington Post and as an “ambassador of the classical guitar” by Classical Guitar Magazine. Berta has been nominated three times for a Latin Grammy Award (in the categories of Best Instrumental Album, Best Classical Album, and Best Tango Album).
A particular focus of her performances is on promoting the music of her native Paraguay, as well as Latin American music in general. Berta has been honored as a Fellow of the Americas by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for her artistic excellence. In a 2014 publication, the news agency EFE deemed her one of the most influential women in the Hispanic world. This highly-anticipated Cleveland debut follows a successful online concert prepared by Berta exclusively for CCGS in August 2020, which featured a program of works by Agustín Barrios.
