30th annual presentation of special collaborative concert between professional composers and the student performers who premiere works composed especially for them.
Every year, 10-12 student soloists and small chamber music groups recommended to the Cleveland Composers Guild by their teachers and coaches are chosen to participate in a special collaborative concert. Professional composer members of the Guild are randomly paired with these students and then compose appropriate level pieces for the students to premiere. The teachers and composers work with the students to present a polished and professionally run recital in May of each year.
One or two talented student composers are also selected for the event, and work with professional performers, who not only premiere these student works but also help the students to hone their craft.
