Roots of American Music’s (ROAM) Annual Benefit for Education on Sunday, March 13, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., at The Bop Stop. This year’s theme is “Lift Their Voices: Celebrating Educators.”
The afternoon’s program will highlight influential music educators and feature performances
by ROAM teaching artists as they pay tribute to the music teachers in their lives who
influenced them to become the musicians and teachers they are today. Also on the bill will
be the presentation of the first annual “William Woods Award for Teaching Excellence”
recognizing excellence in music education with the first Honoree being Dr. Woods himself.
This event will also be the fourth installment of ROAM’s newest music series, “Lift Their
Voices.” This concert livestream and podcast series seeks to celebrate important historical
figures from traditionally marginalized communities and support local artists who, through
their music and art, can share their lived experience in the U.S.A.
Along with this engaging and fun program, event guests will enjoy an early afternoon brunch
and live music by the Reggie Bowens Quartet!
