The First People of the Great Plains

The First People of the Great Plains

Presented by Jennings Center for Older Adults at Jennings Center for Older Adults

Traditions develop out of solutions to challenges.  The First People of the Great Plains lived upon a large, challenging terrain with temperamental seasons.  Our live interactive program utilizes our First Peoples of the Plains: Traditions Shaped by Land and Sky gallery to learn about this history.  We will explore the many human solutions created by these first residents as we investigate housing, food, travel, adornments, and childhood.  We introduce and use the sciences of Anthropology and Archeology as a lens as we investigate our gallery.  Along the way we discuss the lifestyles of more than 10 tribes.
