January is Light and Sound Month

Brighten the New Year and explore all things light and sound this January at the Science Center! All activities are included with general admission unless otherwise noted.

Bubblemania
Wednesday – Friday: 1 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday: 2 p.m.
Bubbles come alive as we become “Bubbleologists” and investigate molecules, shapes and colors.

STEM Storytime & Lab
Wednesday: 11 a.m.
Perfect for little scientists! Join our STEM staff for a special story and hands-on activity. Discover how light and sound work using flashlights, CDs and technology. This month’s book is called Quiet Loud. Recommended for ages 0-5.

Light and Vision Investigation Carts
Wednesday – Saturday: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sunday: 1 – 4 p.m.
Explore the properties of light and learn how the brain processes images through mind-bending visuals!

Family Dissection Workshop: Frog Dissection  ($10 per person, $8 members)
Saturday – Sunday: 1 p.m.
What can we discover about our own bodies by studying a completely different creature? Learn about a frog’s anatomy by examining its organs and body structure. Dissection Workshops are for visitors ages 7 and up. Adult supervision is required. Register here.
