As we grieve a loved one’s death, we feel sadness in the absence of their physical presence. Participants will make a huggable heart-shaped fleece pillow, adding fabric from the loved one’s clothing if desired, to help them cope with loss.
This two-part virtual series takes place over two weeks using Microsoft Teams. Once registered, you will receive all project supplies in the mail, as well as an e-mailed workshop link that allows you to join at the time of the group.
In the first session, we will discuss aspects of grief and healing, and the Art Therapist will provide instruction for completing the project on your own. In the second session, participants share their creations, discuss their process, and share stories and memories of their loved ones.
Guided by a Certified Art Therapist, Healing Arts Workshops provide grieving people with a creative outlet for their grief. Workshops are open to the community, and no art experience is necessary.
To register, please contact Certified Art Therapist Mollie Borgione at 216.486.6544 or mborgione@hospicewr.org no later than two weeks before the first workshop date. Admission is free, but a donation of $5 to Hospice of the Western Reserve is suggested. If you’d like to do so, please visit Hospice of the Western Reserve – Ways to Give (hospicewr.org)
