The event kicks off with the appearance of Mr. Jingeling, Cleveland’s iconic harbinger of Christmas, who will be visiting from 11 am to 1 pm at Rudy’s Bakery at 5580 Ridge Rd.  In honor of Mr. Jingeling, Rudy’s has created a Cleveland Christmas Pierogi, based on the Silver Grill Chicken Pot Pie recipe, to be sold this day only.

From noon to 3 pm, Santa goes on tour of the streets in Ward 2, Polish Village.

In Poland, cities, towns and villages hold Christmas Fairs in their town squares, a tradition going back to the Middle Ages.  Much like these Polish Christmas Fairs, you’ll find Polish Village Parma participating businesses welcoming shoppers, from 4 pm to 8 pm.  Participating businesses will have a luminary with LED candle to alert the public of their participation.  Arts & crafts pop-ups will be set up, especially for this event, at 3 different locations on Ridge Rd., indoors and out.  Look for the lighted and heated tents.  Gingerbread ornaments have hung on Christmas Trees in Poland since the 1900’s.  Visiting children will have the opportunity to make and take home their own free gingerbread ornament.  The Parma Firemen will be manning a fire pit to make free s’mores for the kids.  Hot chocolate and popcorn will also be available. Holiday music, American and Polish will be provided by a D.J.

The day long event is free and open to the public.
