La Placita is a Latino Festival, with authentic local vendors selling food or products, live entertainment, cultural experiences, and a community corner area of organizations and services
La Placita Cleveland was established in 2015 to energize the Latino community around neighborhood development and business attraction. La Placita is an annual series of open-air markets dedicated to fostering Cleveland’s rich Latino culture and promoting economic development in Clark-Fulton, a neighborhood of the near-west side. A tool for authentic community development, La Placita paves the way for local minority entrepreneurs and artists to showcase their products and talents.
At La Placita, you experience authentic local vendors selling food or products, live entertainment, cultural experiences, and a community corner area of organizations and services. Historically, La Placita took place on the second Saturday of the summer months (June July August). This year, due to the new realities of the pandemic, we opted for hosting a two-day event in July (30-31). While we experienced many challenges (staffing, funding, COVID mandates for events, etc), the event was a complete success. We had over 3,000 attendees at the event. Seven entertainment groups were contracted to participate in the event
