"Teresa James WAFS Pilot" Book Launch

Presented by International Women's Air & Space Museum at International Women's Air & Space Museum

In this exclusive book launch, Rickman joins the International Women’s Air & Space Museum as she discusses her experiences interviewing Teresa James in 1999 and James’s experiences flying during the Second World War. James learned to fly at 19, when aviation was still considered a wonderous and dangerous adventure. She developed exceptional flying skills and became a professional barnstormer – stunt pilot. By age 27, she and her fellow WAFS stepped into newly created roles flying newly designed and built airplanes for the war effort. It was dangerous work.
