Have you ever thought about creating your own thank you cards? How about a poem you have always wanted to see in print? Or maybe you want to be ready with the perfect stationary for the holiday season this year! If so, this is the workshop for you! You will learn the basics of setting lead and wood type by hand and will master the mechanics of printing on Zygote’s Vandercook presses. By the end of the workshop, you will have a small edition of handset, hand printed letterpress cards, and you will be approved to work on your own in Zygote’s letterpress studio. Come prepared with a short text and let’s make some prints!

Wendy Partridge is a letterpress printer, book artist, and paintings conservator. She helped establish and for a number of years was the coordinator for the letterpress studio at the Zygote Press. She teaches several workshops each year on letterpress printing. As a member of the CLE Colectiv, she prints handset letterpress cards and coasters with Jamye Jamison and Elizabeth Emery.
