Natural Dye Experience

Natural Dye Experience

Presented by Western Reserve Historical Society at Hale Farm & Village

Housed in our historic Hale Homestead, ‘Old Brick’, Hale Farm & Village offers a wide fiber arts program including spinning, weaving and natural dyeing. This workshop will introduce guests to the historic building as well as the traditional steps in taking wool from sheep to blanket. Participants have the opportunity to get hand’s on with every stage of the natural dye process–harvesting materials in our dye garden and around the farm, creating the natural dye baths, and dyeing their own yarn to take home.

Also included in the day is a special experience exploring the magic of indigo dyeing with our experts!

Workshop tickets include admission to all of Hale Farm & Village, and guests are welcome to explore the rest of the farm and historic buildings before and after the program.

Reservations are required.
