This new documentary looks back at the late 1980s and early 1990s in New York City, when the hip hop and skateboarding scenes cross-pollinated to create an urban style and visual language that changed American culture. With Rosario Dawson, Fred Brathwaite (Fab 5 Freddy), Darryl McDaniels (Run-DMC), et al. “If Paris Is Burning and Kids had a baby, you’d have this documentary love letter to New York—examining race, society, fashion and street culture—and full of archival footage featuring legendary characters and figures from the downtown scene.” –Tribeca Film Festival.
