ABOUT THE ARTIST

Molly Andrews-Hinders is a performance artist, songwriter, creator, and educator. She is passionate about seeking and nurturing space for healing, wholeness, and freedom of expression by asking ‘how do we create and nurture individual and collective care when we are embedded in systems that are inherently unjust?’ Most recently, Molly composed the music for Savory Tanha as part of Cleveland Public Theatre’s virtual series (Feb 2021). She created a soundscape as part of The Wandering at Maelstrom Collaborative Arts (Fall 2020). She is composer and director of Emergence ensemble who seek to explore individual and collective healing and embodiment in our dysfunctional world. Their show, Emergence, was featured at Prop Thtr’s Rhinofest (Feb 2020) and Cleveland Public Theatre’s Test Flight Series (Mar 2019). Molly was lead artist and director for ENDependence, a show that explored the profound effects of and possible solutions for the Opioid Epidemic. A partnered project between MetroHealth and Cleveland Public Theatre, ENDependence had a tour in Lorain county in 2019. Her original compositions have been featured in Light the LightsAirwaves, Pandemonium, and Wintertide, all at CPT. She has performed in multiple venues – both theatrical and musical – throughout Northeast Ohio and beyond. She’s got an album to be released this year under the stage name Lewis. She is also a proud member of the Midwives Artist Collective. Molly grew up at Near West Theatre and felt since she was a kid that it was her home away from home. She is deeply grateful to Trinidad and the NWT team for the invitation to present with Voices of the Community!
