BW Men's Chorus Hosts Fifth Annual Summer Sing!

BW Men's Chorus Hosts Fifth Annual Summer Sing!

Presented by Baldwin Wallace Community Arts School at Baldwin Wallace University Gamble Auditorium

After a year of silent stages and virtual performances, the Baldwin Wallace University Men’s Chorus, directed by Frank Bianchi and accompanied by Michelle Massouh Makhlouf, returns to in-person singing more inspired and energized than ever! Entering its 15th Anniversary Season, the BW Men’s Chorus promises an invigorating calendar of live concerts and events, beginning with its 5th Annual Summer Sing.

Open to all tenor and bass singers who have had some music experience (either vocal or instrumental), this event will take place on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 7:00 – 9:30 PM in Gamble Auditorium at the BW Conservatory of Music located at 96 Front Street, Berea, Ohio.

The 5th Annual Summer Sing invites participants, near and far, to come share an evening on stage with the BW Men’s Chorus, gathering to sing 15-20 TTBB Glee Club pieces in the standard repertoire. The Summer Sing, which regularly draws over 100 singers from across Ohio and beyond, will feature 10 of the region’s most acclaimed university and high school choral directors as they join Director Frank Bianchi in conducting the event. A complete listing of guest conductors is available below.

This is a free event, but registration is required. Please go to summersing.bwmenschorus.com to register. As an informal celebration of community and song, the Summer Sing is not open to spectators. Those who attend should plan on singing. To hear more about the Summer Sing from past participants, please view the chorus’ Summer Sing Promo Video.

In accordance with CDC and university COVID-19 policies, masks are not required and are optional for fully vaccinated participants. Those participants who are not fully vaccinated may participate for a maximum of thirty minutes, masked and at least six feet away from the nearest singer. The event includes additional spacing accommodations for all participants.

The mission of the BW Men’s Chorus is to educate, entertain, uplift, and foster human connection through a commitment to high standards of choral excellence. Energized by the belief that music is a universal language transcending human differences, the chorus is a shared expression of the unique talents and individual experiences of its members, creating an artistic connection that includes the integrity of the music, the director, the audience, and one another.
