This virtual concert and art display showcases the creativity of men and women with disabilities and expands awareness in the community of their ability to joyfully contribute to the arts.
COVID-19 has created hardships and challenging restrictions for all of us over the past year, but for people with disabilities the restrictions were particularly difficult. The Music Therapy choir could not come together for practice sessions and our Music Therapy staff could not even enter the participants’ homes for therapy sessions or practice sessions. In response, the Music Therapy Team quickly came up with a plan for virtual meetings. Choir participants were able to learn new songs and practice during virtual meetings and a concert was born!
Finally in the past few months they have been able to record in our homemade recording studio and practice together while safely distanced. Kudos to all who made this possible, especially Cuyahoga Arts & Culture and the Char and Chuck Fowler Family Foundation!
