This drawing workshop is designed to help you identify your strengths as you navigate a life without your loved one.
The Healing Arts Workshops are led by a Board-certified art therapist and provide grieving people with a creative outlet for their grief. No art experience is necessary.
“That drawing looks as if you couldn’t see what you were doing!” you say? Well, you’re right. It’s called a blind contour drawing because you don’t look at the paper, you only look at the subject. Have you looked at yourself in the mirror since your loved one died and asked, “Who I am now?” This drawing workshop is designed to help you identify your strengths as you navigate a life without your loved one.
We use Microsoft Teams for the virtual workshops, which is similar to Zoom. When you register, you are sent an email invitation with a link to join the workshop. New supplies for the art assignment are shipped to you, and are yours to keep.
Each workshop consists of two sessions, a theme or topic is introduced and we have a small group discussion. You are given instructions on the art assignment for the week. We get back together in the second session to share and talk about the art, memories and feelings.
Call Mollie Borgione at 216.486.6544 or email mborgione@hospicewr.org for more information and to register. Please register two weeks in advance of the workshop date and include your home address so that the art supplies can be mailed to you.
We have waived our suggested $5.00 donation for supplies during the pandemic. However, if you wish to make a donation to the Healing Arts Program of Hospice of the Western Reserve, please go to our website hospicewr.org and click on Donate Now, or call our Development Team at 855.475.0245.
