Explore Inlet Dance Theatre’s mission of “using dance to further people” and dance with us remotely this summer in Inlet’s first Digital Summer Dance Intensive.  This 1-week virtual camp (for participants 16 & up) will focus on the art of designing choreography specifically for the screen via the use of structured improvisation tools, the critical response process in co-creative dance making, and the iterative process of human-centered design thinking as a choreographic practice, resulting in each participant creating their own short dance work on film.  Each daily session will begin with Inlet’s Warm Up and then participants will be guided through exploratory movement exercises and given daily short assignments to film and submit. The intensive will focus time on sharing, discussing, and providing/receiving feedback on the participants’ works in progress with each other and the Inlet staff. The camp will culminate with a premiere of the cohort’s work on Inlet’s YouTube channel, edited by Inlet’s staff.

Inlet’s “D3” Digital Dance by Design will be held over Live Zoom sessions with Inlet instructors.  Additional pre-recorded and other content will be offered for students to enhance participants’ learning.
